Today is the ultimate in irritating days for me. Just going to wind down and take a few hours to gather myself before coming on to blog. These are called crown flowers. They're interesting to look at and photographed well.
The other day I was at a place where a parking lot, dock and the Pacific Ocean meet. It's called Maunalua
Bay and it's an absolutely beautiful view of the ocean in south east Oahu. I was there during sunset just as the clouds turned from shades of white to shades of gold and amber as the sun began to set behind the mountains. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold.
I hope you all are having a fabulous Monday!
Every time I watched the news this past winter, there were reports about how the weather has been so cold that it's breaking records. Wearing all the necessary layers of clothes and coats to stay warm must be so cumbersome and when spring arrives, people all over the world shed those layers and lighten up their wardrobes. I've also noticed how many people have a definite mood lift when spring arrives. Perhaps it's because the gloomy and dark days of winter are behind them and the warmer and more colorful seasons are ahead?
Even in Hawai'i, there is a definite change of pace and mood when the month of March begins because the weather becomes less rainy and more hot and sunny. Do you think that it's just because of the weather change? Perhaps it's not just the budding flowers on trees and the smell of green grass that puts people in a better mood, but just the knowledge that the holidays are behind you and the easy going summer season is just a few months away.
Regardless for the reason, it's nice to see people lightening up their wardrobes and their moods for this season. *wink wink* I feel like I've neglected my blog so much and I've decided to revamp it a bit. Hope you like!

Hello there long lost friends!! I apologize for being M.I.A. recently. I've been swamped with work and back and forth with these terrible colds that I've sorely neglected my blogs and my tumblr. I'm back and in full force. Thankfully I had a chance to take an adventure or two (nothing big, just out and about with my camera), and I've got some awesome photos to show for it.
When I was at the Honolulu Zoo the other day, I took a photo of this massively tall tree with the most interesting and beautiful multi-colored bark that I've ever seen. As I was looking at it, I was thinking about how tall it was and how I'd never be able to climb to the top. After walking around while deep in pensive thought, I started to see similarities towards my outlook on climbing this massive tree and life and attaining one's goals. Most of the time, the goals seem so long off or far fetched that you'd rather give up than put the work into it but if you keep going, if you keep pushing yourself...eventually, you'll get it.
That's something to look forward to. Sure, attaining my goals may not be easy or simple, but it'll be worth it in the end.
I hope you all are well and I look forward to blogging much more from now on!
Xoxo,
Jean
I love this photo of water droplets with the light spectrum gleaming through each drop. The bokeh effect in the background adds to the allure.
Just a little inspiration and art in an otherwise dull and busy day...

Anne Hathaway has been a favorite actress of mine since she donned the wild hair and thick eyebrows in The Princess Diaries. She's grown into quite the actress and I love her overall look and style.
I love the awards season much more now that I don't write a fashion/style-centric blog. I can actually enjoy the fashion without having to prepare numerous posts recapping the fashion hits and misses. Every season has it's style standouts and so far, Anne Hathaway has my vote. She looks enchanting, elegant and amazing in Armani at the 2011 Golden Globes. She's literally shimmering in hues of amber, champagne and gold.
Love it!
