Olivia Wilde and her icy blue eyes are on the April 2013 cover of Marie Claire Magazine (US) which hits stores on March 19th. The actress who rose to fame when she debuted on House talked to Marie Claire about her life, literature, being an impetuous young woman, acting, life and her love with fiance Jason Sudeikis.
I can't help but like her. She's the kind of chick that can as easily hang with the guys as she can with the girls. Unlike many of her Holywood contemporaries, you rarely hear any gossip about her and you never see her getting out of cars without panties just to get press. She doesn't need to resort to such measures and I respect that about her. I like her effortless coolness and matter-of-factness and unassuming humility even though she comes from a family of journalists and scholars.
I've been kind of fasting from purchasing magazines the last few months- harder for me than you may think, but I plan to take a quick break from my magazine buying ban to get this copy of Marie Claire. The girl is gorgeous, the designer duds have an ethereal beauty to them and I love the photographer Tesh's work.

So I was watching tv last night when this commercial started to play. I can't help but like Jennifer Aniston. I don't know if its because she is so down to earth or whether it's because she was my favorite on Friends... or perhaps it's because she got her start in The Leprechaun (Happy St. Patrick's Day), but I always have and probably always will like Jen. She's just that kind of likable chick that seems so cool, mellow and laid back.
She's got that very easy, breezy California vibe about her without the pretention. Anyway, I'm excited to see what her collaboration with Aveeno brings about in regards to new products and ads. I like Aveeno, it's one of the few brands I can use at will without worrying about having a bad reaction. Though I'm sure Jennifer Aniston doesn't use their face products (not that there's anything wrong with them), their lotion is really gentle and moisturizing. Heck, regardless of whether she actually uses them or not, I'm sure having her as a spokeswoman will increase Aveeno's sales worldwide.
I'm personally looking forward to the collaboration. Makes me want to go buy a new bottle of lotion.. yeah... I'm an easy sale on beauty and skincare!
Check out the commercial below!
I meant to write about this a few days ago but I got caught up in work and other posts. Anyhow, as a photographer, clients often ask me why they can't get all the photos from their shoot. It's actually been awhile since I shot people because I've been so busy with the "day job" and all of that but when I do the occasional family, wedding or event shoot I often get asked why they don't get all the photos.
Hey, I understand why they'd ask that...photo shoots aren't cheap but there are really good reasons why you don't get all the photos from the shoot. No human being, not even the gorgeous Beyonce, can look perfect 100% of the time. Crazy, unflattering looks can happen to anyone and sometimes it goes unnoticed by spectators because it happens in a split second and is over but when you have a photographer with a fast continuous shutter speed, they catch everything.... and it 'aint always pretty!!
So to any of you who have a wedding or a family shoot or a modeling shoot for a portfolio or ad campaign and wonder.... hey why don't I get all the photos from my shoot? This is the reason. I know Beyonce and her publicist wish these photos weren't out there. I even read somewhere that they were trying to have the unflattering photos removed. Don't sweat it Bey, you're gorgeous.
Anne Hathaway has been a favorite actress of mine since she donned the wild hair and thick eyebrows in The Princess Diaries. She's grown into quite the actress and I love her overall look and style.
I love the awards season much more now that I don't write a fashion/style-centric blog. I can actually enjoy the fashion without having to prepare numerous posts recapping the fashion hits and misses. Every season has it's style standouts and so far, Anne Hathaway has my vote. She looks enchanting, elegant and amazing in Armani at the 2011 Golden Globes. She's literally shimmering in hues of amber, champagne and gold.
I know it's an oldie for some of you but this is one of my all time favorite movies. I love Drew Barrymore and this take on the Cinderella story really gets me every time. It's nice to see an underdog not only win her prince, but save herself from the bad guy.
